Residents say they have even been given warning letters

A resident at a block of flats in Coventry says “lives are being made hell” due to a parking dispute which has resulted in them being given warning letters.

Radford House, in Brownshill Green Road, consists of 12 flats, but residents do not have a designated parking area, so are having to park on the road.

The road is often clogged by cars of non-residents instead, but resident Craig Morgan said even when they do find a space to park, letters are being placed on their windscreens by a residents' association warning them not to.

“We have got major problems,” he said at a city services cabinet meeting on Monday, February 25.

“We are getting letters about parking there.

"I got a letter on my van from a residents' association which doesn’t exist. Our lives are being made hell.

“Sometimes we are getting up at night so an ambulance can get in to access one of the residents in the flat. It’s not fair.”

Residents have been unable to resolve the issue with flat owners Whitefriars so sent a petition of 11 signatures asking the council to intervene.

Mr Morgan and ward councillor Glenn Williams asked the council if it could implement a residents' parking scheme to prohibit public parking on evenings.

Officer Rachel Goodyer said: “A residents parking scheme would be extremely difficult to put in as people can object to it.

“The only thing we can do is put in double yellow lines. We cannot force people to not park on the streets.”

However double yellow lines would cause “more problems”, Mr Morgan said, as it would restrict Radford House residents from also parking on the road.

Chair Cllr Pat Hetherton told him the council “will revisit it” after officer Ms Goodyer agreed to arrange meetings with Whitefriars to resolve the issue.

A spokesman from WM Housing Group, the main branch of Whitefriars, said: “We will be meeting with Coventry City Council to try and resolve this issue as soon as possible.”

"...making life Hell"
For Christ's sake grow up! So you can't park your car where you like and might have to walk a few yards, is it a 'real' problem? Bl**dy snowflakes! :clown:

And the council are equally at fault here for entertaining such pathetic gripes. :fuming:
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
