The victim had to be taken to hospital

A gang of robbers tied up a petrol station worker during a robbery in which cash, cigarettes and the victim's car were stolen.

Three suspects entered the store at Dunchurch Service Station, in Coventry Road, and attacked a worker, tying his hands together.

As well as stealing cigarettes and cash, the robbers took the victim's mobile phone and car during the incident between 9.45pm and 10.25pm on Friday, February 22.

The car was later found abandoned nearby.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said one ambulance was sent to the scene to treat the victim who was then taken to hospital for further treatment.

Warwickshire Police say that enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at that time.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call the force on 101, quoting crime number 23/7722/19.

Police are also investigating a second robbery at a petrol station in Warwickshire that happened around 24 hours later.

A worker at the Esso station in Stratford Road, Warwick, heard someone shouting "give me the money", and fearing a robbery was in progress he ran out onto the forecourt and started banging the pumps to scare the suspect away if still in the area.

On returning to the store with police it was established that the till has been accessed and cigarettes taken.

It is believed the suspect may have had a weapon of some sort.

That robbery happened between 11.20pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, February 23, and anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 511 of February 23.

Details on both incidents can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
