A drug dealer and a burglar caught during one of the biggest drugs seizures in Warwickshire have been jailed.

Levan Ward Vassell and Daryl Lloyd were were sent to prison for the part they played in police finding a kilo of cocaine with a street value of more than £100,000; around £7,000 worth of cannabis and almost £4,000 in cash at an address in St Paul’s Road, Nuneaton.

Daryl Patrick Lloyd, 25, previously of Croft Pool, Bedworth, and Levan Anthony Ward, previously known as Levan Anthony Vassell, 29, of St Paul’s Road, Nuneaton, appeared before Warwick Crown Court for sentencing on Monday, February 11.

Lloyd and Ward both previously pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply and acquiring criminal property.

Ward also pleaded guilty to production of cannabis, possession of ammunition without a licence and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Ward was sentenced to seven years in prison and Lloyd was sentenced to four years and six months.

Officers initially responded to a call about a thief in a house on November 17 2017 – only to be greeted by one of the biggest cocaine finds in recent years.

It was during a search of the property that they found the large quantity of cocaine, which has a street value of around £50,000.

They also seized a hydraulic press which is used to press cocaine into blocks along with more than £3,500 in cash.

Officers found Lloyd in the living room and detained and searched him. They found the key to a BMW 1 Series.

A search of the car uncovered cocaine, cannabis and almost £4,000 in cash. Officers also seized some bullets from the address.

Ward was arrested in connection with offences by detectives from the Nuneaton Offender Management Unit (OMU) in January last year.
