Three arrests after 100mph police chase on A45

A stinger has to be used to stop the car the Allesley area of Coventry

A 100mph police chase ended when a stinger was used to stop a car on the A45.

The high-speed pursuit ended in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Allesley, Coventry.

Warwickshire Police initially responded to a 999 call at 12.24am to reports a 17-year-old boy, who has not been identified, was attacked and robbed in Queens Road, Nuneaton.

A short time later, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle on the A46 near Coventry.

They then followed the car along the A45 where it reportedly hit speeds on 100mph on the wrong side of the road.

The chase finally came to an end in Allesley when a stinger was used to stop the car.

Police arrested three men at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy from Solihull was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of cannabis.

An 18-year-old man from Studley was arrested on suspicion of robbery, failing to stop, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

An 18-year-old man from Solihull was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

At the time of publication, all three remained in custody.
