A motorist saved the dog from a ditchThis is the poor dog thrown out of a car window before being left for dead on the side of a country road in Warwickshire.
The RSPCA has launched an investigation to find the callous owner who pulled up in a car and threw Lexi the dog from the vehicle before driving off.
Luckily another motorist saw the sickening incident and was able to rescue the blue female Shar-Pei from the ditch where she had landed in Dalehouse Lane, Kenilworth.
They could see immediately she was suffering with a chronic skin condition from the fur loss all over her body.
Rescuing her from the ditch where she was so coldly dumped, they rushed her to the Coventry branch of RSPCA for treatment.
Vets there also found the neglected pooch to be underweight.
There is now an investigation and Inspector Helen Smith is appealing for information about who owned the dog prior to her being dumped.
The car involved is described as a black Audi or BMW saloon, or similar, and the incident happened at about 1.45pm on Friday, December 28.
The dog was microchipped and it was found her name is Lexi and she is six years old.
She was registered to an address in Cheylesmore but inquiries found the owner had died about 12-18 months ago.
It is understood she was taken on by another family member but the animal welfare charity has been unable to trace that person.
