A couple have been left too scared to live in their own home after a violent robbery.

The husband and wife were punched in the face and pushed to the floor by two men who forced their way into their house on Windmill Road, Longford.

It happened around 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 15.

The woman, who doesn't wish to be named, said she is now so petrified, she doesn't want to live in the house anymore.

They don't feel safe in their home after the incident - which happened during rush hour on a main road.

She said: "I am frightened in my own home.

"I don't want to be here any more.

"I feel that you love your home and then it gets taken away from you.

"I've been left petrified and scared in our own home."

West Midlands Police said they are at an early stage of the investigation.

They are appealing for witnesses an said CCTV enquiries are being carried out.

A spokesman for the force said: "We were called to reports of a robbery at a property in Windmill Road, Coventry at around 5.30pm yesterday afternoon (15 January).

"A couple returned to their property to discover two men in their house.

"They attempted to stop the offenders, when they were punched and pushed to the ground.

"The men fled with a quantity of jewellery from the house.

"The investigation is at an early stage and CCTV enquiries are being carried out."

Somehow I feel that there is more to this.

Random burglary strikes gold, just doesn't feel right to me. They knew what they were looking for.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
