Drivers found themselves stuck in huge queues in the Whitley area of Coventry this evening after a collision involving a lorry.

The crash happened shortly after 4.30pm on Humber Road, close to the Matalan store, causing chaos in the rush hour.

A police car blocked the road as the lorry had leaked coolant onto the road.

Horns were beeping as motorists tried to navigate their way across the roundabout near the Asda superstore and huge queues built in all directions.

Customers at the supermarket found themselves queuing for over half an hour to get out of the car park.

One resident, who did not want to be named, told CoventryLive it had taken her 45 minutes to get out of the car park.

She added: "It was absolute chaos and horns were beeping everywhere."

Traffic only returned to normal at around 6.30pm after the lorry and the leak were cleared away shortly before 6pm.
