A long-serving bingo hall in Coventry is set to close
The Gala Bingo hall next to Pool Meadow on Fairfax Street near the city centre is set to shut down on February 14.
It has been a hub of community activity in the city for many years.
Many Gala Bingo clubs were rebranded as Buzz Bingo last year by franchise owners Gala Leisure, which owns the Pool Meadow hall.
It is unclear at this stage how many jobs will be affected.
But bosses say some employees can be transferred to other bingo halls in the city.
A spokesperson from Buzz Bingo said: “Following a review of our club portfolio, we have decided to close the Coventry Pool Meadow club on February 14.
“Our key priority is looking after our colleagues and customers.
“We will make every effort to offer colleagues opportunities to transfer to our newly rebranded Savoy and Walsgrave Buzz Bingo clubs in Coventry.”
