This is the suspected burglar police want to trace after two Nuneaton town centre shops were broken into leaving owners devastated.

He was caught on CCTV camera during one of the break-ins at shops in Coventry Street.

One of the owners took to social media to post the images in a bid to trace the suspect, who allegedly caused extensive damage.

In a post on Facebook, it reads: “I am heartbroken. In the early hours of last night (Boxing Day) our business was broken into. We weren’t the only business affected, there were many last night in Nuneaton.

“We are a centre that offers support to the community. We have nothing of value, just some chairs and lamps but someone thought it acceptable to break in and cause chaos for us.

“This has had an ongoing impact to the work we have been able to offer, including costs of a new alarm system and insurance excess has made it a very costly day.

“We are a small business trying to make a difference and this has not helped. We have footage and it's been passed on to the local police.

“Please help us identify this man. The crime in this town needs to stop and it can with your help.”

Coventry Live contacted Warwickshire Police Force and a spokesperson said that two break-ins were reported.

"It's reported damage was caused to both premises but nothing was stolen," the spokesperson said.

"Investigations are ongoing. If anyone witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area, please call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident reference 104 of December 27."

Details can also be passed on to officers via the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
