Detectives say they are both 'extremely conerning'



Cops need witnesses after two 'extremely concerning' incidents on the same Bedworth street.

They want to hear from anyone who saw or has any information after a gang attacked a taxi with baseball bats and metal bars in Cadman Close.

Hours later, arsonists struck at a property on the same street.

Officers believe the two incidents may be linked and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.

Detective Constable Karl Roberts said: "Both of these incidents are extremely concerning.

"I would appeal to anyone in the area who may have witnessed either incident or anything suspicious to contact us."

The first incident took place at 8.30pm on Friday, November 16. A taxi was damaged by a group of men after the driver had made a drop off.

The driver of the silver Peugeot Expert dropped a man off on Cadman Close.

A short time later the driver saw the man being chased by the group. The man jumped back in the taxi and the group started hitting the vehicle with baseball bats and metal bars. A man then jumped out of the taxi and ran towards Tesco in Bedworth being chased by the group of people.

A few hours later, at 1.55am on Saturday, November 17, police received reports that the door of a house on Cadman Close was on fire. Officers are treating this as an arson attack.
