Four people were injured in the blazeA fire which has left a five-year-old boy fighting for his life is being treated as suspicious police have confirmed.
The emergency services were called to a property on Wentworth Road, Rugby in the early hours of the morning (November 15).
A woman and three children have been left injured after the incident, which was reported to Warwickshire Police at 2.46am.
One of the children, a five-year-old boy, is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering burns.
The other two children, an eight-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy, are being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and burns.
Meanwhile, the woman, a 28-year-old, is also being treated for burns in hospital.
Fire crews from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue tackled the blaze, and it has been confirmed that police are treating the fire as suspicious.
Detective Inspector Paul Thompson said: "This was an extremely serious incident that has left a woman and three children injured.
"Our top priority at the moment is working with the fire brigade to establish the cause of the fire.
"In the meantime, I would ask for anyone who was in the area at the time who saw anything suspicious or anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch with police.
"There will be an increased police presence in the area over the next few days as officers investigate the fire and to provide reassurance to the community."
