A police vehicle was believed to have been rammed during the incident
Police officers in Coventry face a Cinderella search after a suspect lost his trainers during a pursuit.
Officers were called to Remembrance Road in Willenhall during the early hours of the morning following reports of three men in a car attempting to enter people's houses.
But the officers who attended were set for an eventful time when they arrived, at 4.30am.
A black Jaguar immediately collided with the police vehicle as it arrived, leading to a short pursuit.
However, the Jaguar crashed further down the road, and the three men fled the scene on foot.
Along with the vehicle, police were left with a strange momento, as one of the suspects had become separated from his trainers during the chase.
But sadly for fans of a fairy tale, West Midlands Police confirm that they will not be going door to door to find the owner of the shoes.
Instead of a Cinderella style search, police have confirmed that they will instead utilise the "magic that is DNA" in an attempt to reunite the suspect with his trainers.
