There were unconfirmed reports of a person stood on top of the museumPolice have revealed further details about an incident at the Coventry Transport Museum on Friday night which saw the building sealed off and the diversion of a main bus route.
There were unconfirmed reports of a person stood on top of the museum on Hales Street in the city centre.
West Midlands Police has this morning confirmed that was in fact the case.
A force spokesman confirmed that the operation was conducted following concerns for the welfare of the 18-year-old man on the museum roof.
They added that the man subsequently came down from the roof safely.
Millennium Place, the square directly outside the museum, were cordoned off and several officers were stationed there.
There were at least four police cars and one ambulance at the scene.
Hales Street was blocked off by emergency vehicles at the junction of Bishop Street, The Burges and Corporation Street.
It meant that buses had to divert as the stops outside the museum could not be reached.
