The fire is believed to have started accidentally
Fire crews were called to tackle a severe blaze at a tyre shop in Coventry.
The fire service was alerted to the incident at National Tyres and Autocentre on Spon End last night and sent crews from three Coventry stations to the scene.
The steel-framed building has been badly damaged by the fire.
Fire crews also had to cool down acetylene cylinders at the scene which had heated up in the blaze.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
After receiving the call shortly after 7pm, West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that crews were attending the scene.
The fire service posted an update shortly after 6am this morning, in which they confirmed the fire started accidently.
It read: "Update on four pump fire at National Tyre & Autocentre, Coventry.
"Severe fire affecting 15 per cent of steel framed constructed building 30m x 15m.
"Incident also involved low level asbestos and two acetylene cylinders affected by heat from the fire and were cooled down.
"Fire was accidental nature."
I didn't hear a thing and the fire engines had to pass my house in order to reach the fire.
