Residents had reported a second hit-and-run near Hearsall Common...Claims of a second hit-and-run in Coventry last night have been quashed by police.
Residents in the city had reported on social media that a second hit-and-run had taken place near Hearsall Common shortly after.
But following questions from CoventryLive, West Midlands Police has quashed those rumours.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Earlsdon Avenue North shortly before 9pm last night (8 October).
"A man in his 20s was taken to hospital and has since been released.
"The driver stopped at the scene and helped police with their enquiries."
