A man has been taken to hospital with severe injuries after falling from a bridge at Coventry Railway Station.

Both police and an ambulance crew were called to the station shortly after 11am this morning.

As a result, all trains to and from Coventry were either cancelled or severely delayed, along with a number of Coventry bus routes.

The man was treated at the scene, before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

British Transport Police have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Services in and out of Coventry Railway Station were disrupted over lunchtime, with many cancelled.

Replacement buses were brought in to ferry passengers from Coventry to both Nuneaton and Leamington, while train tickets were being accepted on buses to Birmingham.

In Coventry meanwhile, a number of National Express services were disrupted due to the incident.
