Teenage thugs leave man in hospital after Bedworth street attack

A gang of teenage thugs left a man needing hospital treatment after they attacked him in the street in Bedworth.

The victim, who has not been identified but is aged in his 30s, was walking along Church Walk at 8pm on Saturday, September 22, when he was assaulted by a group of five or six males.

They forced him to empty his pockets and the gang then stole cash and a packet of cigarettes from him.

The victim was left with head, face and shoulder injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. He has since been discharged.

Detectives now want to help to trace the gang of teenage attackers.

One of the suspects has been described as being white, aged around 18, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall, of a medium build, with short dark hair and fine facial hair.

He was believed to be wearing a dark hooded top and light grey tracksuit bottoms with white trainers.

His accomplices were younger, with one wearing a light coloured baseball cap with a dark hooded top and being around 15 years old.

All are believed to have been wearing trainers.

Police are also appealing for a man who was passing the scene and stopped to help the victim to make contact as he may hold vital information. The Good Samaritan remained with the victim until the ambulance arrived.

He is not believed to have been involved with the offence, but may be able to provide information regarding what he saw and potential descriptions of the offenders.
