Crowbar robbers steal cars in Earlsdon

Wed Aug 15, 2018 4:43 pm

Police continue to investigate

Masked men carrying crowbars burgled a property in Coventry in the early hours of yesterday.

Police are investigating after reports of a robbery in Hartington Crescent - in the Earlsdon area of the city.

The incident is believed to have taken place just before 1.30am on Tuesday morning (August 14).

West Midlands Police believe that two masked men carrying crow bars forced entry into a house on the road.

The men demanded that that the 35-year-old homeowner stay upstairs while they searched through the property - before making off with a white Volkswagen Tiguan and a blue Volkswagen Golf, having taken the keys from inside the house.

Police confirm that enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference 20CV/184642N/18.

The offenders know they have little chance of being apprehended, and even if they are caught any sentence will be minimal. Ergo, they have little to lose... Unless they happen to pick on a particularly aggressive home owner!
