Customers have complained about the lack of stock at some Morrisons stores during the hot weather

MORRISONS shoppers have slammed the supermarket for running out of stock during a heatwave.

Customers at a number of stores across the UK have spotted vast empty shelves over the past few days, although Morrisons say it's not a nationwide problem.

Some shoppers have been reporting that their local stores are out of stock of some fruit and vegetables, bottled water and baked goods.

Supplies have been running low in stores in Hillsborough in Sheffield, Oxted in Surrey, Maidstone in Kent and Seaford in East Sussex, but Morrisons reckons they're isolated issues.

One customer posted a photo of empty shelves in the fruit and veg aisles, which should have been stocked with bananas and tomatoes.

Another regular shopper at the Oxted store complained that stock has been running low "for ages".

One store in Maidstone seemed to have run out of french sticks in the bakery section.

Another shopper in Hull, Mike Pickles, complained to HullLive that the stores has been running out of his favourite items for weeks.

He tweeted that over the weekend the store was out of lettuce, Pepsi Max, orange crush, orangeade, and mince and dumpling meals.

"Shelves just constantly massive spaces, members of staff say a lot complaining they tell manager an he just shrugs shoulders... Been bad for weeks now Morrisons sort it out Hull holderness Rd branch," he wrote.

A spokesperson for Morrisons told The Sun: "We are not seeing any general issues with availability of products.

"Of course, across 493 stores there will be some local issues and we will look into these."

That's nothing unusual for Morrison's. It's usually the most basic items which are missing. I despair of getting everything I need from one visit. :fuming:

Tesco's are running low on many items
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Shelves are STILL empty at Morrison's! :fuming:

There was no vinegar of any kind there yesterday, not even the cheap substitute vinegar as used in chip shops.

There have been no one-litre bottles of lemon cordial for many weeks and the only cup-a-soup flavour left is minestrone.

Staff were standing around talking while items close to them were strewn all over the aisles.

The place is an absolute shambles! :fuming:

To be fair that could be almost any supermarket. They all seem to suffer from too many chiefs and not enough indians. Tesco (Arena) is particularly bad. :(

These weren't managers though, they were ordinary staff and their attitude seemed to be "It's not my job, let somebody else pick it up."

Their supervisors nearby didn't seem to care either.

Last week they ran out of bags to put fresh produce in so nobody could buy any, monumental incompetence! :clown:
