Officers armed with guns swooped on a house in the town last week
A man arrested in Bedworth by armed police as part of an international operation has now been charged.
Armed officers surrounded a house in Robinson Road on Thursday evening during the pre-planned operation, which also saw a pistol intercepted as it was being imported in to the country from America.
Police stated a stun gun was also recovered during the raid in Robinson Road, which happened at around 6pm and was carried out by the Regional Organised Crime Unit for the West Midlands.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police stated that Asaan Hussain, 23, has now been charged with a number of offences.
The 23-year-old builder, from Mordiford Close in Redditch, has been charged with: fraudulent evasion of prohibition/restriction on prohibited weapon/ammunition; possession of controlled article for use in fraud; knowingly concerned in fraudulent evasion of prohibition/restriction on prohibited weapon/ammunition; and possession of weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas.
Hussain was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
