Dave Jones is now in a wheelchair after trying to stop the thugsPolice have launched a TV appeal to find a driver who crushed the leg of a man near Coventry.
Dave Jones suffered a life-changing injury when he went to confront two burglars attempting to break into his neighbour's home in Narrowboat Close, Hawkesbury.
The men were driving a stolen, dark grey Vauxhall Astra, running fake plates, at around 10am on April 17.
When Dave attempted to scare them off, the driver of the Vauxhall accelerated towards him, crashing into Dave and a lampost.
Dave's ordeal didn't end there.
The driver then reversed back towards Dave before picking up the raider targeting the house and driving off.
Dave faces spending months in a wheelchair and countless sessions of rehabilitation for his brave attempt to stop the burglars.
Police now wish to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV below with connection to the hit and run.
Investigating officer, DC Surjeet Hundal of Warwickshire Police said catching the men is a top priority: "We really want to catch these people.
"There's been no regard for Dave there.
"We know they were driving a Vauxhall Astra SRi which had been stolen three days before the events of April 17.
"It was also running on fake plates which had also been stolen.
"Anyone with information is urged to come forward and speak to us."
