Wrestling fans can look forward to another high-profile spectacle in Coventry next month.

Local promotion AMP Wrestling is making its return on June 15, when they bring their family friendly The Wrestling show to FarGo Village .

The card features a number of high profile names - including an American superstar and a British legend, in what could be his last ever Coventry appearance.

Last year, the promotion made headlines with a successful show at The Alan Higgs centre - which featured a WWE star.

This time around, the biggest name is California grappler Joey Ryan, who has previously fought a who's who of talent across the globe.

He also appeared in GLOW, the smash hit TV series depicting the US women's wrestling circuit in the 1980s, on Netflix.

He is joined by 45-year-old Doug Williams from Reading, who could be competing in Coventry for the final time after a career spanning three decades. He is best known for a lengthy stint at American promotion Impact Wrestling.

Other big names include Charlie Morgan and James Mason, who are joined by Coventry's own Jetta and former Whitley Abbey pupils The Henchmen, Jim Diehard and Benton Destruction - who weigh in at a combined 50 stone.

AMP wrestling promoter James Meikle said: "We'd like to thank the great wrestling fans of Coventry for their continued support of us.

"This event is going to be different to anything we've done before. It will be a showcase of many different styles of wrestling featuring some of the very best wrestlers in the country. There will be something that appeals to today's dedicated fans, a chance for people that watched in their younger days to revisit those days and a great introduction to wrestling for fans of live entertainment that might have never seen wrestling before.

"The Box and Fargo Village have been incredibly supportive and we're certain that we will give the regular visitors something they've never experienced before."

Tickets are on sale from £10 for The Wrestling event on June 15 at the Box at FarGo Village, with doors from 6.30pm.
