Plans have been approved for a three-storey student block behind The Humber in Humber RoadPlans for a new student accommodation complex in Coventry have been given the green light.
Some 41 studio apartments are to be built as part of a three-storey student block on the land behind The Humber Pub, on Humber Road.
The plans were submitted to Coventry City Council late last year, and were approved on Friday.
It has confirmed that The Humber pub will remain open.
The proposal, submitted by Punch Partnerships (PML) Limited will see the flats built upon the pub's current car park and beer garden.
This is what the new accommodation will consist of:
- Seven en-suite studio units on the ground floor
- 17 en-suite studio units on the first floor
- 17 en-suite studio units on the second floor
- A common room and study room, alongside a reception, office, refuse store, accessible WC, cycle storage and laundry room.
With the exception of five spaces for visitors, no parking will be provided for residents of the new build, located in the Lower Stoke area of the city.
A reorganised car parking area for 20 vehicles, and a outdoor patio area for the pub also form part of the plans.
