He was found with gunshot injuries to his chest at around 11.15pm on Sunday in Copland Place.

He said: "We have made significant progress with our investigation; although we’ve made these arrests, we still need people to come forward.

"I’d urge anyone who was in Torrington Avenue or Copland Place at around 11pm on Sunday evening who hasn’t already spoken to us, or anyone who’s heard or seen something suspicious that could be connected, to get in touch.

"Daniel’s family are devastated and we are keeping them fully updated with the latest developments."

Man missing from Coventry could have links to Tile Hill murder

Image

A man who has gone missing from Coventry could have links to the Tile Hill murder, police say.

John Robbins has gone missing from the Tile Hill area of Coventry.

Officers are extremely concerned about his disappearance, which is very out of character for him.

John who is 33-years-old, has not been seen since Wednesday 21 March. He is described as white and 5ft 9ins tall. He has short brown hair and blue eyes.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mallett from the force’s homicide team said: “I am seriously concerned about the disappearance of John.

"I believe it could be connected to the murder of Daniel Shaw.

"Daniel died on Sunday (25 March) after he was found with gunshot injuries to his chest.

“It’s really important that anyone who has seen John or knows about his whereabouts contacts us as soon as possible by calling us on 101."

Missing Coventry man now feared "kidnapped and murdered"

A £10,000 reward has been put up for information in connection with the murder of Coventry man Daniel Shaw.

The reward has been issued by Crimestoppers who have also stated that a man who went missing at around the same time, John Robbins, may have also been kidnapped, assaulted and murdered.

Mr Shaw died after being shot in the chest and was found in Copland Place, Tile Hill, on Sunday, March 25.

Police say Mr Robbins has been missing since March 21 and now Crimestoppers has stated he may have been kidnapped and possibly killed.

Police re-launch appeal over Tile Hill murder and suspicious disappearance

Image

POLICE have re-launched an appeal as part of the investigation into a Coventry murder believed to be connected with a potential kidnapping and torture four days earlier.

Daniel Shaw, aged 28, was found with gunshot injuries to his chest at around 11.15pm on Sunday, March 25.

He was found in Copeland Place in the Tile Hill area of the city and died at the scene.

Police believe his murder is connected to the disappearance of Johnny Robbins, aged 33, on March 21.

Detectives believe Johnny was kidnapped and tortured and could have been murdered.

But a body has not yet been found.

His disappearance is considered ‘out of character’ by those close to him.

Independent charity Crimestoppers is offering an award of £10,000 for information given anonymously which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Pauline Hadley, West Midlands regional manager for Crimestoppers, said in April: “A young man has been murdered and another has disappeared in suspicious circumstances. It’s deeply distressing for family and friends and also for the wider community to know that such violence is taking place in their midst.

“At Crimestoppers we believe everyone has the right to feel safe, which is why we urge anyone with information to speak up and tell our charity what you know. We guarantee you will remain 100 per cent anonymous. Always.”

Woman arrested in Coventry double murder probe

A woman has been arrested and bailed in connection with a double murder in Coventry.

Police believe the deaths of Daniel Shaw, 28, who was shot dead in the city, and John Robbins, 33, are linked.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested at 08:40 GMT on suspicion of assisting a man police believe played a part in the killings.

"It's suspected she may have assisted a man understood to be a prime suspect in the case," West Midlands Police said.

The woman was arrested in the Tile Hill area and questioned over the murder of Mr Shaw and the disappearance of Mr Robbins.

She was bailed until a date in December when she will be further questioned.

The bail conditions include surrendering her passport and sleeping at a specified address, police said.

Det Ch Insp Chris Mallett said: "We have made significant progress with this complex investigation… this arrest is the latest development.

"I have a dedicated team of detectives working on this investigation but we need the community of Coventry to stand up to those causing fear and intimidation where you live and stop this from happening again."

Two men, aged 22 and 47, arrested on suspicion of his murder, have been released pending further investigation.

Coventry double murder suspect bailed after Spain arrest

A man arrested in Spain over a double murder has been released on bail, West Midlands Police said.

The 29-year-old was held over the murder of Daniel Shaw, 28, in Coventry and the disappearance of Johnny Robbins, 33, four days later.

Police had named suspects Ben Whyley and Ryan Hobday, both 29, but said they had gone "off the radar" or feared they may be dead.

It is understood the detained man is one of the suspects previously named.

A police spokeswoman said he had been released on police bail and must report back by the end of December.
