Police re-launch appeal over Tile Hill murder and suspicious disappearancePOLICE have re-launched an appeal as part of the investigation into a Coventry murder believed to be connected with a potential kidnapping and torture four days earlier.
Daniel Shaw, aged 28, was found with gunshot injuries to his chest at around 11.15pm on Sunday, March 25.
He was found in Copeland Place in the Tile Hill area of the city and died at the scene.
Police believe his murder is connected to the disappearance of Johnny Robbins, aged 33, on March 21.
Detectives believe Johnny was kidnapped and tortured and could have been murdered.
But a body has not yet been found.
His disappearance is considered ‘out of character’ by those close to him.
Independent charity Crimestoppers is offering an award of £10,000 for information given anonymously which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Pauline Hadley, West Midlands regional manager for Crimestoppers, said in April: “A young man has been murdered and another has disappeared in suspicious circumstances. It’s deeply distressing for family and friends and also for the wider community to know that such violence is taking place in their midst.
“At Crimestoppers we believe everyone has the right to feel safe, which is why we urge anyone with information to speak up and tell our charity what you know. We guarantee you will remain 100 per cent anonymous. Always.”
