The yellow weather warning has put paid to the run
Coventry Half-Marathon has been cancelled over concerns about the dangerous weather conditions predicted for the weekend.
Thousands of runners had signed up for the popular run but with snow and ice forecast across the region organisers decided it was too dangerous to allow the event to go ahead.
The run was due to take place on Sunday but has now been called off.
We are still awaiting an official statement, but the organisers have told us: “We are sadly having to cancel.
“A press release will be put out later.”
No details have been given as to any plans to rearrange.
All bus services will operate to their normal routes.
The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for snow across Coventry and Warwickshire starting on Saturday.
