A man detained by police during an incident in Coventry that saw the bomb squad called in was arrested on suspicion of inciting a child to commit a sexual act.

The 30-year-old was arrested following a pre-planned raid at a home in Grangemouth Road, Radford, on Friday morning.

While at the scene, officers found an unknown chemical in a garden shed and the Royal Logistic Corps bomb disposal unit were called as a precaution.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said various items of electronic equipment were also seized during a search of the property.

They stated that there was “no threat to the public" during yesterday's incident.

While at the scene, police also inspected a silver BMW sat in Grangemouth Road and the front door of the house could be seen lying on the floor following the raid.

The arrested man has now been bailed until mid-March.
