Second man stabbed in same Coventry street in a week

Police have revealed there have now been two stabbings in the same Coventry street in a week

A 41-year-old man was stabbed in Far Gosford Street just before 5pm on Sunday, February 11.

He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The news follows a second stabbing in the same street yesterday which was reported to police by a local shopkeeper at around 5.45pm.

That attack is believed to have followed a dispute nearby and saw Far Gosford Street taped off between Drinks 4 You and the Costcutter store.

The victim was given first aid at the scene and then taken to hospital treatment. It is understood he had been stabbed in the back.

West Midlands Police are investigating whether there are any links between the two incidents.

Regarding the incident on Sunday, a spokesman for the force said: “We acknowledge that this is a serious crime which will worry some people, but we are working hard to find the attacker.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting 20CV/33692G/18.”
