Scorched wires show electricity mains had been dangerously by-passed to power the operationCommunity cops sniffed out a mini cannabis farm while out on routine neighbourhood enquiries on a Nuneaton street.
Members of Nuneaton Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) say they were in Oaston Road when they were hit by an ‘overwhelmingly strong’ smell of cannabis.
On further inspection they found plants growing in the back bedroom of a ground-floor flat.
Also, they found the electricity mains in the basement of the flat had been dangerously bypassed and there were even signs of burning.
The officers seized the drugs and raised the alarm with electricity firms
A woman, who has not been identified, was arrested for cannabis cultivation and abstracting electricity.
It is unclear if she has been charged with the offences.
