A social club in Coventry has been wrecked by raiders who smashed their way in and burgled the club.

Three men smashed up the door to Willenhall Social Club with a hammer in the early hours of this morning.

Doors have been attacked and gaming machines torn apart with a hammer, while debris has been left in nearly every room after the raid.

The social club have posted images on their Facebook page for people to help find who did it.

Images from inside the club show the sheer damage which has been done - and it is questionable if they are able to reopen for New Year’s Eve in just a few days time.

The burglars were caught on CCTV.

Images from the cameras catch one of them lifting the hammer above his head ready to smash in the glass door.

Half the door to the office has been ripped off, with remnants of the wood left lying on the floor, and cables left hanging out of the back of the gaming machine after the burglars ripped it apart to steal from it.

They managed to get away with some money from the bandit, but the amount has not been disclosed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Police are investigating a burglary at Willenhall Social Club in Robin Hood Road, Coventry, which is reported to have taken place in the early hours of this morning.

“It is believed up to three people gained access to the premises and managed to make off with money from a games machine at around 1am.

“Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting 20CV/279544X/17.”

The suspects faces are all over social media. I doubt it'll be long before Plod cottons on.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

I am a little surprised that that the club didn't have intruder alarm. I have everything alarmed, my car shed and house and I have nowt worth nicking.
In the shed/garage I have an alarm bought from Argos for a tenner years ago. It once alerted me to some toe rag that had got in.
Intruder alarms are still cheap as chips and good investment.
