Caution. Low bridge

How on earth could this happen? How could a double decker be routed along this road? I know that road slightly and I remember that bridge and have to wonder how the driver could have missed the obvious.
I think there is a dip under the Alvis bridge so that busses can go under, perhaps Dutchman knows about this.

It's happened a couple of times by me Jock. Lorries also regularly hit the top of the bridge. - Last one I saw was about 3 months back when walking the dog. The noise it made spooked him.

Yes the road was lowered and widened at some point which has left the pavement a few inches higher on one side.

I have read from replies to other s getting stuck that when they resurface roads they dont measure how much less the height has become.

The other issue is that lorries have become longer, so any depression beneath the bridge would need to become longer also. That is very noticeable on Woodshires Rd. - It also caught my mate out when driving a truck onto MIRA's proving ground, entering via the tunnel. Although the vehicle was below the stated height, the length of it caused the top to be ripped off.
