Firefighters in Coventry are warning drivers to stay safe driving on the ice after this car slid off the road into a building yesterday.

The icy conditions forced the car off the road and into the takeaway, causing the wall to partly collapse.

Fortunately in this case, there were no injuries, but the same can’t be said for the takeaway.

The Seat had gone off the icy road and straight into the side of the building, causing a fair bit of damage.

Rubble was seen inside the building from where the car crashed.

Bricks from underneath the window pain were scattered across the inside, and the front end of the car suffering damage too.

Canley Fire Station were in attendance to this with Coventry Fire and police.

Their message was to stay safe and take care on the roads.

The collision happened on Newcombe Road in Earlsdon, where some of the roads were still covered in black ice and frozen snow.

A yellow weather warning of ice is still in place across the West Midlands until at least tomorrow morning.
