Immediately after a group of people went to her aid.

A Coventry Police spokesman said: “A group of up to eight men and women - believed to have spoken with eastern European accents - ran to help the woman and chased the suspect before he made off in the car.

“She suffered facial injuries and was treated in hospital, while officers later arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of kidnap.

“He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

“The Good Samaritans left the scene without leaving any details with the woman - and officers are now keen to speak to them as they may hold vital information about the incident.”

The police say they believe it was a domestic incident but have urged anyone from the group which helped th woman, or anyone with information, to contact them.
