Man injured in Coventry after suspected bridge fall

Pickford Way was closed on Friday evening while police investigated

A man was taken to hospital last night after he is believed to have fell from a bridge in Coventry.

The 56-year-old man was found in Pickford Way, between the Holyhead Road roundabout and the A45, during Friday evening rush hour with leg and pelvis injuries.

Police closed off the road while an investigation was launched and they are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Officers are investigating how a man sustained injuries in Coventry just after 5.20pm last night.

“A 56-year-old man was found injured in the road on Pickford Way. He was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and pelvis.

“It is understood the man may have fallen from a bridge and part of the road was closed last night while police conducted enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting log 1758 of December 1.

That's why our groceries were late. We have them delivered from Morrisons and should have arrived by 5.30.. At 6.30 wife phoned up to ask where they were. Guy on 'phone apologised and knocked £5.00 of this weeks and next weeks groceries so I am hoping they will be late again in the near future. :yahoo:
