Thefts are latest of motors in West Midlands

Three cars were stolen from outside homes in Coventry as thieves struck in overnight raids.

A Honda Civic was taken from a house in Corbet Road, Radford, a Ford Fiesta from Lion Fields Avenue, Allesley, and an Audi A6 from Browett Road, Coundon.

Police believe the keys were ‘fished’ through the letter boxes of the first two homes, with the thefts reported on the morning of Friday November 24.

The side panel of the front door was smashed and the car keys were taken from the house in Browett Road at around 2.20am.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are appealing for residents to be vigilant and report suspicious behaviour after three cars were stolen from houses in Coventry overnight.

“Please make sure your property is secure at all times and that items of value, including keys, are stored out of view of windows and doors.”

*Anyone with information about the Coventry car thefts should contact PC Steve Phillips, from Force CID at Willenhall on 101.
