Police searching for missing Coventry man Louis Cureton say they believe they have found his body.

West Midlands Police launched an appeal yesterday in a bid to find the 28-year-old from Stoke, who had been missing since Sunday.

Police said the body was discovered in a wooded area on Leaf Lane near Whitley.

In a tweet this morning West Midlands Police said: “Officers searching for missing man Louis Cureton have found a body in a wooded area on Leaf Lane, near Whitley in Coventry.

“The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the 28-year-old.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious.”

His family are being supported by officers.

Louis was well known on the local football circuit having represented a number of teams in the area.

Missing since Sunday morning, his friends and family had become increasingly concerned for his welfare.

When they launched the appeal the police said Louis did not arrive at his place of work on Monday morning.

They added that he may have been in a white Western Power van and that his disappearance was “very out of character”.
