Luckily the driver of the Mercedes got out unhurt as his pride and joy was engulfed by fire in Coventry today

This is the dramatic moment a car burst into flames in Coventry today.

Luckily the driver of the Mercedes got out unhurt as his pride and joy was engulfed by fire in Longford.

The photographer who captured the scene said the driver told him he could smell smoke as he drove along Longford Road, so he pulled into Lady Lane.

Moments later it caught fire next to homes and other parked cars.

Firefighters were on the scene quickly and put out the blaze before it could spread.

What a stupid place to park if you suspect your car is smelling of burning. Good job a car was nt parked over that mains water drain like they normally are and we dont know who owns the parked cars they can park for days over it.
