An armed thug stabbed two men during a frightening street robbery in Nuneaton.

Police are still hunting the suspect who struck near to Jodrell Court at just before 11pm last night.

Officers have confirmed that a 29-year-old man, who has not been identified, suffered life-changing injuries after being stabbed in the leg and arm.

A 31-year-old man, whose identity is not known, suffered a stab wound to his leg during the incident.

Police were called by West Midlands Ambulance Service, which sent two ambulances and the critical care car from the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, which has a doctor on board, to the scene.

The 29-year-old man was taken via ambulance on blue lights, with a critical care doctor on board, to the University Hospital in Coventry.

Another ambulance took the 31-year-old to the Walsgrave-based hospital.

Investigations are ongoing to find the suspect and a spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: “We'd like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 10pm and 11pm.”

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident 421 of November 14 or the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
