A Coventry primary school teacher faces jail after being snared by a paedophile vigilante group.

Dad-of-two Timothy Lloyd, a Year 3 teacher at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Tile Hill, sent x-rated pictures of himself to someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

That girl, who he believed was called Crystal, was in fact a member of a group called the Lady Godiva Hunters.

The vigilante group confronted Lloyd at his home in Duggins Lane, Tile Hill, on Sunday before calling the police.

Lloyd, 32, was arrested and charged on Monday with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child under the age of 16.

He appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today and entered a guilty plea.

While Lloyd sat in the dock - dressed in an Aston Villa hoodie and blue jeans - and his parents watched on from the public gallery, Baldev Atwal outlined the case of the Crown Prosecution Service.

He said: “This investigation was began by a volunteer group called the Lady Godiva Predators.

“A member took on the identity of a 13-year-old girl called Crystal and was in contact via the internet with a man who referred to himself as Mark Franklin.

“During the communication between them it became abundantly clear that he was talking to a 13-year-old female.

“The conversation developed in to a sexual nature and in that context Mark Franklin invited her to send him intimate photos of herself and offered to send those of himself.”

Under the false name, Lloyd send two “intimate photos of his private areas” to Crystal.

Lloyd was identified when the Lady Godiva Predators managed to find a mobile phone being used to send the messages and photos, and linked it to the disgraced teacher.

They then confronted Lloyd at his home in Coventry, before ringing police and Lloyd was subsequently arrested.

The offences took place between July 10 and October 15 this year.

Mr Atwal asked magistrates to send the case for sentencing at crown court stating “he has pleaded guilty to a very serious offence”.

He added: “By his guilty plea he puts himself in a very precarious position.”

Lloyd’s representative in court, Chris Jones, agreed that the case should be committed to a higher court for sentencing, which will now take place at Warwick Crown Court on November 17.

The probation service has been asked to prepare reports for that day.

The father-of-two will not be able to see his young children without a third party present due to his bail conditions, and also has to leave the family home in Coventry.

He will move back in with his parents in Bromsgrove, the court heard.

The bail conditions also include: no contact with any child under the age of 18 without supervision; he must stay away from Our Lady of the Assumption School; and must not use social media for the purposes of contacting children.

Pervert primary school teacher snared by paedophile hunters avoids prison

A Coventry primary school teacher has escaped being jailed after being snared by a group of paedophile hunters.

Lloyd, 32, was arrested and later charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced today at Warwick Crown Court where he was given a three-year community order and ordered to take part in a sex offender’s programme and a rehabilitation activity.

Sentencing Lloyd, Judge Lockhart told him: “You have chosen a life in the teaching profession and you have learned about the safeguarding of children.

“But in the summer of this year you, with all of that, decided to go onto a chat room and, with a false name, you communicated with a person you thought was a 13-year-old female.

“You repeatedly asked for photographs and sent a photograph of your genitals.

“You were arrested and you were not entirely open about your motives. I am sure you were doing it for some form of sexual excitement.

“I have given this case some anxious consideration. I am just able to say in this case that I can shrink back from a custodial sentence.”

David Mason QC, defending, argued that sending Lloyd to prison “for a relatively short period of time would be utterly pointless, when there is a more constructive alternative”.

He added: “He will lose his job as a teacher. Amazingly, it has not happened yet. A hearing is set down for Tuesday of next week, and he is under no illusions that the school will sack him.

“His career is ruined because of this aberration earlier this year. That is the end of it, and quite rightly so.”

Mr Mason pointed out that, ironically, that is when Lloyd had been due to receive an increase in pay for his good performance as a teacher.

He said that since his arrest Lloyd has been undergoing therapy to address his problem, and has been apart from his family and living back with his parents in Bromsgrove.

Of the night of Lloyd’s arrest, Mr Mason said: “What happened was a group of men arrived at their doorstep at 11pm, with his wife and children in bed, shouting ‘paedophile’.

“He was then filmed being arrested and that was placed on Facebook. While he deserves condemnation, he does not deserve that, and nor do his wife, who is a professional woman, or his parents, whose address was given.”

I have a theory...

We are being subjected to more and more detail about paedophiles and as such we are becoming less sensitive toward it. Eventually, the age of consent will be lowered and what we currently call paedophilia will be seen as normal.

The Telegraph are trying to make it sound as if he abused one of his pupils when he did nothing of the sort.

His imaginary victim was not even in the same age group as the kids he teaches.
