Teenager stabbed in mass brawl outside Coventry leisure centre

A teenager was stabbed after a mass brawl outside a leisure centre in Coventry last night.

Emergency services arrived at Moat House Leisure Centre in Winston Avenue after reports that three people were being attacked.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg, while the other two were punched and kicked.

The mass brawl involved around 20 young people, but when emergency services arrived, the group dispersed.

The young boy was one of two young men and one girl who were reportedly attacked.

It all happened around 8pm last night.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "Police are appealing for information after a teenager was stabbed when disorder broke out among a group of around 20 young people in Coventry.

"Officers were called to Moat House Leisure Centre in Winston Avenue to reports that two young men and a girl were being attacked at around 8pm on 9 October.

"One boy aged 17 was stabbed in the leg, while the other two were punched and kicked.

"Paramedics and police arrived, and the group dispersed.

"The boy who was stabbed was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.

"Extra officers are being deployed in the area to reassure residents. No arrests have been made."
