Coventry woman cheats death as tree falls on car

The dramatic close-shave happened in Woodcraft Close, Tile Hill, at about 3.45pm
A woman cheated death after a huge tree toppled onto her car in Coventry today.
Joyce Woodward, whose silver Ford Fiesta was hit by the falling tree, said: “A huge branch of the tree on the opposite site of the road has collapsed and fell partly on my car.
“It just came down by itself, but it does look rotten at the bottom.
“If I hadn’t had a phone call to deal with I would have been in the car. I think I have a guardian angel.”
The dramatic close-shave happened on the driveway of her home in Woodcraft Close, Tile Hill, at about 3.45pm.
The huge branch is currently blocking the road in and out of the cul-de-sac.
Police have been called to the incident which has blocked off traffic in and out of the street which is off Job’s Lane.
A spokesman for Coventry City Council say they are aware of the fallen tree and have contacted their “tree contractor” who will be at the scene as soon as possible.
