Car abandoned on central barrier in Coventry with no driver in sight

A driver has abandoned their car and left it perched on the central barrier of a busy Coventry road.

The Ford Focus has suffered at least one tyre blowout and has visible damage to the front bumper after it was snapped on Hinckley Road, leading from junction 2 of the M6 towards Walsgrave.

A member of the public contacted police after the driver couldn’t be seen anywhere in the area.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were alerted at 12pm, but the vehicle has been abandoned and is not blocking the road.”

Recovery of the vehicle is expected to take place this afternoon.
