Operator Jump In has revealed plans to open a facility in Tile Hill

Coventry looks set to get its first trampoline park after an operator announced plans to open in the city.

Operator Jump In has revealed plans to open a facility at the Earlplace Business Park, just off the A45, in Tile Hill.

Jump In says the new trampoline park will open in 2018 if planning permission is granted, creating 60 jobs.

The first trampoline park in the area is set to open soon in Exhall but the Jump In facility would be the first one in Coventry.

Earlier this year operator Red Kangaroo announced plans to transform a former industrial warehouse in Exhall as part of a trio of roll-outs across the country.

It will be located at the former RSM Industries site in Church Lane.

The Red Kangaroo park will have 75 trampolines and is set to create around 80 jobs.

In April the Telegraph reported it was due to open in July, though its opening date has yet to be announced.

Jump In said it was drawn to Coventry as the city was currently the largest metropolitan area in the UK without a trampoline park.

Vernon West, chairman of Jump In, said: “We’re thrilled to have taken the first steps in becoming part of Coventry’s diverse recreation activities.

“We have selected an entirely accessible location in the city and will be working hard to create an attraction for the whole community to enjoy”

The park is set to launch next year with all the most popular facilities from Jump In’s existing seven UK sites, including one in Warwick . Features will include interconnected trampolines, wall trampolines, a foam pit, air bag, a dedicated toddler jump space and a Gladiators-style battle beam.

Jump In also says it also wants to canvas the views of potential customers by giving them the opportunity to determine which new features they would most like to see at the Coventry venue.

Options include a rope swing, basketball nets, a tightrope, a soft play area for younger children and more besides.

Brand new trampoline park on edge of Coventry opens today

Image

A brand new trampoline park on edge of Coventry bounces into action for the first time today.

After months of waiting, the doors to the Red Kangaroo Trampoline Park in Exhall, Bedworth, will officially open this morning.

Excited families and youngsters will be greeted by the new park’s team and among those ready to leap into action are three generations of the same Bedworth family.

Clair Campbell, her daughter Tallulah Rawlings, and her mother Helen Bath, all applied for jobs at what is Nuneaton and Bedworth’s first ever trampoline park.

Paul Wrightman, managing director at RedKangaroo Coventry, said the trio’s appointment is special for the firm, saying: “It is extremely rare to have three generations of one family in the same workplace and we are sure that Clair, Tallulah and Helen will make a fantastic contribution to what is going to be a hugely exciting new attraction for the Coventry and Warwickshire area.”

It was back in November 2016 that the plans to transform the former RSM factory into a trampoline park were first revealed.

The extensive refurbishment of the site has been carried out by Wigley Building and Development, the construction arm of Coventry-based commercial property company The Wigley Group which owns and leases the site to RedKangaroo.

Once opened, the park is set to be packed full of wall-to-wall super-sized trampolines. Its range of facilities will include gigantic foam pits, ninja warrior courses, a huge tumble track, dodgeball courts, an exciting total wipeout game and cardio reaction walls.

Tickets for RedKangaroo Trampoline Park are on sale here.

Vandals target trampoline park less than a WEEK after it opened

Vandals targeted a brand new trampoline park less than a WEEK after it opened – but bosses have said it is ‘business as usual’ this weekend.

The hooligans broke into the new RedKangaroo Trampoline Park in Bedworth , trashing the kitchen and smashed catering equipment and tills.

But, despite the attack on Thursday, the School Lane-based attraction, which only opened on Saturday, February 3, is open.

Stephanie Gray, the park’s general manager, condemned the vandals but said that they have been ‘really touched’ by the response of the local community who too have vented anger at those responsible.

“It is a real shame for all of the team, who’ve worked so hard to get the park looking and working incredibly well over the last few weeks but we have been really touched by the response of the community who have expressed their disappointment and anger that a new facility for local people has had this set-back,” she said..

Paul Wrightman, RedKangaroo managing director, added that the attack has not tinged the success of the opening week of the venue.

“The reviews of the park so far have been incredible, with thousands of happy faces already having passed through our doors,” he said

“We’re not going to let this incident affect our service, and are confident that people from across Warwickshire will come out and continue to support us during our opening month.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 47 of February 9 or the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.

Girl rushed to hospital after smashing face at new trampoline park

A young girl was taken to hospital after she hit her face on metal railings at a new trampoline park on its opening day.

Lisa Elliott, from Stoke, told the Telegraph she is concerned about safety at the RedKangaroo trampoline park in Exhall after her nine-year-old daughter injured herself on an assault course on Saturday, February 3.

RedKangaroo Trampoline Park told the Telegraph its equipment had been rigorously risk assessed before its opening day but they have taken action to install additional padding following the incident.

Lisa told the Telegraph: “My daughter Macy was on the assault course called Ninja Warrior, which was manned by one person, and I was watching from the balcony.

“I saw her jump from one podium and her foot got caught and she face-planted metal railings. Her mouth and teeth were squashed and her mouth was full of blood.

“People are also jumping around and you have metal railings uncovered with no padding.”

Luckily, Macy did not break any of her teeth in the incident.

Armed robbers threaten Red Kangaroo trampoline park staff with a handgun

Image

CCTV images have been released after an armed robbery at a newly-opened trampoline park in Bedworth where staff were threatened with a handgun.

Detectives heading up the investigation into the frightening incident at the Red Kangaroo Trampoline Park in School Lane say they want to speak to the man pictured in the pictures taken from CCTV footage.

They say that the man could have been in the area shortly before the incident and may have crucial information.

Fortunately no-one was injured during the robbery, which took place at 8.25pm on February 22 and saw three masked men threaten staff members with what is reported to have been a black handgun.

They forced staff to open the safe, emptying it of an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving in the direction of Foleshill, Coventry, in a black saloon car.

DC Sam Sutton of Nuneaton CID said: "I'd like to reassure local residents that incidents of this nature are rare in the area, but we take all reports of armed robbery very seriously and a number of lines of enquiry are continuing.

"Thankfully nobody was seriously injured during the incident, but it was an understandably distressing ordeal for the victims involved. "We are seeking to identify and speak with the man pictured as we believe he may have been in the area shortly before the incident, and could have important information for our investigation."

It is second time that the trampoline park has been targeted by criminals since it opened at the start of last month. In fact, less than a week after it opened, burglars broke in and stole cash and now armed robbers have targeted the popular venue.

But Paul Wrightman, managing director of RedKangaroo Limited, has been quick to stress that they have increased security at the site

Speaking about the armed robbery, he said: “No customers were at the park at the time of the incident and no-one was hurt, but our staff were obviously shaken by the incident.

“They have remained extremely professional, and we remained open for business the following day as usual.

“I want to assure our customers that we are even more committed to ensuring our parks are a fun and safe environment for all our staff and visitors. We have taken a number of steps to further increase our security provision and have provided support for all of the staff who were involved.

“We won’t let a criminal minority stop us opening our doors to the people of Coventry and Warwickshire who have supported us so wonderfully in our first six weeks.”

Red Kangaroo destroyed by fire

Image

A trampoline park popular with families has been destroyed by fire overnight.

Around 70 firefighters from across Coventry and Warwickshire battled the huge blaze at Red Kangaroo during the early hours of Thursday, October 18.

The venue was well ablaze when crews arrived at the scene on School Lane in Exhall just after 2am.

By dawn the fire was out, revealing the interior had been completely gutted.

You can hear the fire alarms still going off inside, with just a shell of the building left.

Crews from West Midlands Fire were called in to support Warwickshire crews at the scene.

Crew Commander Mullins said: “West Midlands Fire sent a couple of engines to the scene to support Warwickshire.

“One engine from Coventry and one from Foleshill were sent during the early stages of the fire.

“We also sent one hydraulic platform.

“Crews came back to the station around 6am, nearly three hours after it started.

“We went when they asked for more resources.”

Ahem, as I was saying...

Red Kangaroo fire: Bosses promise an "exciting new park"

A "totally new" park is being promised by bosses of the blaze-hit trampoline centre in Bedworth.

Red Kangaroo has said "watch this space" as work begins to totally rebuild the former trampoline park in School Lane which was engulfed by flames during a huge inferno last month.

Bosses have issued a statement in which it says that it will be a "brand new" park in the same location but will be "fresh and more exciting than ever".

Paul Wrightman, managing director for Red Kangaroo said “Here at Red Kangaroo we are so disappointed to not have a presence in the town as we felt very much part of the local community through our staff and customers.

“We are committed to reopening as soon as possible with a vibrant, exciting new park. Watch this space – we will be back.”

He went on to add that the firm has "taken comfort" from the prompt action and support received from the emergency services.

At the height of the blaze there were 70 firefighters tackling the flames and the courageous crews managed to save the front of the building, including the reception area.

As previously reported, fire investigation specialists concluded that the devastating blaze was an accident.

But enquiries are ongoing to establish the actual cause of the blaze.
