A POLICE hunt is underway to trace a man in connection with a frightening incident where a Nuneaton woman was dragged out of her bed and attacked while another man was hospitalised.

Detectives have asked for help to find Matthew Ryan Gane, who also goes under the name Bradley, who is believed to have connections to Nuneaton, Bedworth and Coventry.

It follows a shock incident in the Queen Elizabeth Road area of Camp Hill in Nuneaton, where three men burst into a home.

They dragged a woman, who has not been identified but is aged in her 30s, out of bed and outside before assaulting her. She suffered slight injuries and ran away.

A man, also aged in his 30s, is reported to have been assaulted inside the property and left with injuries to his jaw which needed hospital treatment.

The incident was reported to police on November 13 last year but officers are now asking for help and, a part of their enquiries, want to speak to Gane, who is aged 36.

But they have urged anyone who sees him, not to approach him, instead call the police.

Detective Sergeant Daniel Freeman said: "I would like to reassure the local community that a thorough investigation is underway.

"We would like to speak to Matthew Gane in connection with this as he may have information which could assist our enquiries.

"I would urge anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts to let the police know or to pass this on to Crimestoppers. I would advise people not to approach him."

Gane has been described as approximately 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build, with dark brown hair.

Anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts should call police 101, quoting incident number 43 of November 13.

Details can also be passed on via the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
