Emergency services are in attendance at Tile Hill station after a person was struck by a train.

He has been confirmed dead.

The incident has caused delays on services between Coventry and London Euston.

Man killed in Tile Hill train station tragedy is named

A man who died after being hit by a train at Tile Hill station has been named as Richard Peter Field.

The 41-year-old was a married man from Coventry and died on the morning of Thursday, May 4.

An inquest in to his death was opened at Coventry Council House today.

Giving evidence, coroner’s officer Cheryl McClounan stated Mr Field’s name, age and where he came from.

She also revealed that a post-mortem examination concluded that the cause of death was multiple injuries.

The senior coroner for Coventry, Sean McGovern, said he was now awaiting reports from the likes of Mr Field’s GP and the British Transport Police.

He hopes to conclude the inquest later this summer.
