"Man found with two pistols in Coventry city centre"
A man found with two imitation firearms in Coventry city centre has been jailed for 12 weeks
Ben John Knight was found with the two pistols in Bird Street on March 8 and pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.
The 27-year-old, of no fixed address, also admitted driving without insurance or a licence, failing to stop a vehicle when ordered to do so by police and failing to provide a sample when he appeared at the city’s magistrates’ court.
Knight was given the 12-week prison sentence as magistrates said he has a “history of non-compliance with court orders”.
He also had eight points endorsed on his licence for the driving offences and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
How can they 'endorse' a licence he hasn't got in the first place?
