Elderly woman hit by car in Coventry city centre
Paramedics were called to the incident at the junction of the Burges and Hales Street at 1.35pm
A pensioner has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Coventry city centre.
The woman, who is in her 70s, was struck at the crossroads where Hales Street and The Burges meet at around 1.35pm.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that they sent one ambulance crew to the scene and the woman was treated for a leg injury.
She has since been taken to University Hospital in Walsgrave.
West Midlands Police say they were called to the incident shortly after it happened by the ambulance service and that no roads had been closed.
