A man was assaulted with either a hammer or metal bar as he travelled on a bus from Coventry to Nuneaton.The 49-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was attacked on the number 48 bus from Coventry to Nuneaton on Saturday (February 11).
Detectives say that he was either attacked with a hammer or metal bar.
The victim had to be taken to the George Eliot Hospital for treatment following the attack, which happened at around 5pm.
Investigating officers say that a good Samaritan intervened during the attack and they would like to speak to him as he may hold vital information.
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "DC Dave Moorman would like to hear from the man who intervened or anyone else who witnessed the information or has information about it."
