Attack horror on Coventry to Nuneaton bus

A man was assaulted with either a hammer or metal bar as he travelled on a bus from Coventry to Nuneaton.

The 49-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was attacked on the number 48 bus from Coventry to Nuneaton on Saturday (February 11).

Detectives say that he was either attacked with a hammer or metal bar.

The victim had to be taken to the George Eliot Hospital for treatment following the attack, which happened at around 5pm.

Investigating officers say that a good Samaritan intervened during the attack and they would like to speak to him as he may hold vital information.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "DC Dave Moorman would like to hear from the man who intervened or anyone else who witnessed the information or has information about it."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident 267 of February 11.
