Bablake Weather Station warned local people to "wrap up warm" as the temperatures plunge
Coventry could be set for some snow showers as we approach the weekend, forecasters say.
Bablake Weather Station, based in Coventry, have told residents they can expect "flurries" of the white stuff overnight on Thursday and into Friday.
Forecaster Steve Jackson warned local people to "wrap up warm" as the temperatures plunge.
And the downturn in weather could be enough for a dusting of snow "in some places by dawn on Friday", Mr Jackson added.
The Met Office say Thursday will be a cold day for the city and surrounding Warwickshire region, with the clouds thick enough at times to "give the odd wintry flurry."
It will stay cold overnight with some frost, forecasters add, but generally skies will remain cloudy allowing further wintry flurries at times, especially over higher ground.
Friday will be another bitterly cold day with largely cloudy skies and occasional wintry flurries, particularly over the hills.
Mr Jackson, meanwhile, says: "Leaden grey skies, courtesy of anticyclonic gloom, and the risk of a few snow flakes, though it will just remain dull dry and overcast for most of us.
"It will feel cold at 3C thanks to windchill, so wrap up warm.
"There could be enough snow flurries overnight for a dusting of snow in some places by dawn on Friday, with minima around freezing again, though otherwise it should be ice free.
"Same again on Friday - grey and overcast with a few snow flurries, with highs around 3C."
