Driver arrested and drugs found after suspected stolen car crashes in Radford

This was the scene in a residential street after police stopped a suspected stolen car following a chase.

The Ford Focus ST crashed in to other cars near to the junction of Banks Road and Holland Road, in Radford, at around 11.15am this morning.

Police tweeted to say the driver then tried to run off but was caught and arrested.

A quantity of drugs, believed to be cannabis, were recovered from the vehicle, along with money and mobile phones.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said that a 24-year-old man was arrested and is currently in police custody.

They added that the car was reported stolen from an address in Nottingham on Friday, January 6.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information can call police on 101, quoting incident 603 of January 24.
